Trinidad Benham was committed to protecting the environment long before it was the popular thing to do. Packaging and energy reduction as well as recycling efforts have been our primary areas of focus. That includes everything from developing more efficient packaging design to installing high-efficiency lighting in our plants.

We worked with sustainability experts and consulting firms to help us improve our overall sustainability performance. Their analysis lead to a number of changes in our processing and packaging plants, most to be considered best practices. These changes include:

  • New T5 lighting to reduce electricity usage
  • Use of sky lights, white walls and white ceilings
  • Reflective roof coatings to assist with temperature control
  • Radiant flooring
  • Use of recycled materials in building construction
  • Use of repurposed steel in processing equipment
  • Extensive recycling efforts
  • Transitioning fork lift fleet from propane to electric

We continue to look for ways to reduce our carbon footprint.

Trinidad Benham shipping cases are certified with the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI). SFI is a fully independent, charitable organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management. SFI labels are recognized globally and provide a visual cue to help customers identify responsibly managed forest products.

At Trinidad Benham Corporation we are committed to providing safe, quality products in a manner that ensures a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and minimizes our potential impact on the environment. We operate in compliance with relevant environmental legislation and we strive to use pollution prevention and environmental best practices.
