FOIL & FOOD CONTACT USAGE
Plastic Wrap
Everyone uses plastic wrap in the kitchen to help keep foods fresh. (Everyone we know, at least.) Plastic wrap is also just as useful outside the kitchen. Below are a few of our favorite uses for plastic wrap.
Bowl and Container Covers
Plastic wrap replaces bowl and container covers when they aren’t available.
Freezing Single Serve Items
Wrap individual meats or vegetable servings with plastic wrap and place them in a freezer bag before storing them in the freezer. That way, you can keep the portions separate and store them in the same bag.
Between Coats
Instead of cleaning paintbrushes between coats, wrap them in plastic wrap to keep them from drying out. Works great for rollers, too.
Handle Grips
Doing a little yard work? Wearing gloves? Wrap some plastic wrap around rake and shovel handles for a better grip.
Shoe Booties
Wrap a little plastic wrap around your shoes and you’ve got instant booties – great for newly-refinished or recently-cleaned floors.
Creamy Ice Cream
After opening a pint of ice cream, put a layer of plastic wrap over the top before putting the lid back on. This will prevent freezer burn.
