Parchment Paper
While wax paper is good in the microwave, parchment paper is what to use in the oven. Unlike wax paper, which melts when exposed to direct heat, parchment paper can withstand temperatures up to about 420 degrees Fahrenheit. Parchment paper is non-stick, waterproof, greaseproof, biodegradable, and super easy to clean up.
Great Uses For Parchment Paper
En Papillote
Translated - simply means “in a bag.” This classic French cooking method creates the most delectable cuisines most commonly using your favorite fish and other fresh ingredients.
Lining Baking Sheets
Parchment paper is fantastic for lining baking sheets. No need to grease them ever again!
Rolling Cookie Dough
Put already-mixed cookie dough on a sheet of parchment paper. Then put another sheet of parchment paper on top of it. When you roll out the dough, your pin won’t stick and the cookies will roll out smoother.
Freezing Meats
Put parchment paper between meats before you freeze them, and they’ll be easy to pull apart when you’re ready to use them.
Reheating In The Microwave
Parchment paper is microwave-safe. When you’re reheating something in the microwave, cover it with parchment paper and your microwave will stay clean.
Non-stick Baking
Nothing’s as frustrating as a cake that’s stuck in its pan. Put a sheet of parchment paper in cake pans first and you’ll never have that problem again.
